Product Spotlight: Vintage Beistle Halloween Decorations

Get into the Halloween spirit with haunting classics from the Beistle Company!

You may have never heard of the Beistle Company, but chances are you’ve seen their Halloween decorations over the years. The company was founded in 1900 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by Martin Luther Beistle, and is still run by his descendants.

What started as a small imprint and calendar production in the basement of Mr. Beistle’s home has evolved over the years with products that included wood children’s toys and artificial plants, but the Beistle Company really took off when it partnered with the Paper Novelty Company to pioneer the American production of honey combed tissue decorations.

They've created decorations for all holidays, but their first seasonal line was for Halloween in 1921. Since then, they have produced over 1000 different designs including weird witches, bristling black cats, spooky spiders, and spine-tingling skeletons! Their honey combed and die cut decorations helped popularize Halloween decorating across the country.
